Minimum Requirements for the job:
Qualifications / Education
Minimum:
An under-graduate degree (qualification at NQF-7 level) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field – a post-graduate degree is preferred.
Advantageous:
A post-graduate qualification in the above;
Industry-recognised certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP, AGILE DSDM etc.)
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in an IT Project Management role in an enterprise (large, complex) IT environment leading both systems development and infrastructure projects.
At least 3 years in a senior/lead project management role, leading and mentoring junior project managers.
A proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT-related projects.
An understanding of how organisational change management supports successful project implementation would be advantageous.
Functional Competencies:
Proficiency in Waterfall and AGILE project management methodologies.
Thorough knowledge of the project management lifecycle and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
Proficiency in establishing effective project governance and maintaining necessary project documentation / artifacts.
Proficiency in managing Project Resources, Budgets, Risks and Issues
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and Project Management tools

Description:
The main purpose of the role is to effectively lead and oversee IT-related projects through their entire lifecycle using a combination of Waterfall and AGILE Project management methodologies, depending on the nature of the project. The Lead IT Project Manager will be required to lead a team of project leads and will be required to collaborate with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and with measurable value to the institution.
